Thanksgiving Day starts with Turkey Trot 5k

The eighth annual Turkey Trot to benefit Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services will begin at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, outside First United Methodist Church, 424 Main St.

Those looking for a less competitive start to Thanksgiving Day can enjoy a 1-mile fun walk.

T-shirts will be given to the first 500 registered. The race and walk will be through Old Town Laurel and along Riverfront Park. Registration fee is $30.

Awards given to the top overall male and female, and top three males and females in eight age groups: 12 and under, 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and older.

LARS is a nonprofit organization that assists homeless and low-income individuals and families.
