Scouting for Food donation pickup on Saturday

Laurel Boys Scouts will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items from front doors of Laurel homes on Saturday, Nov. 10 beginning at 9 a.m.

This year's Scouting for Food effort began Nov. 3 when Laurel Cub Scouts distributed plastic collection bags to Laurel homes. Residents can pack the bags with nonperishable food items, which will be distributed to local food banks in Laurel, including Elizabeth House and Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services.

Scouting for Food is sponsored by the Capital Area Food Bank, WUSA9 and Safeway Stores.
