Police make arrest in Saturday's South Laurel homicide

Prince George's County Police said an argument between two men appears to be the motive in a South Laurel shooting Saturday that left one man dead and the other charged with first degree murder.

Police said they responded to a report of a shooting around 1 p.m. Saturday in the 10100 block of Bignonia Drive, near Route 197 and south of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Police found resident Glenn Albert Herzog, 52, suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said Herzog was pronounced dead at the scene.

After initial investigations, police said they believed the shooting was not random and they identified an acquaintance of Herzog as a possible suspect.

Police said Jack Sherman Rosenberg, 56, of the 5100 block of Poplar Place in Warrenton, Va., turned himself into police Saturday and was charged with first degree murder. He is being held by the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro.
