Help fill food baskets for families in Prince George's County

In an effort to provide holiday dinners to needy families in Prince George's County, the Prince George's County Public Safety Assistance Program is collecting donations of canned goods through Dec. 20.

County agencies that are participating in the holiday food basket program include the Office of the Sheriff, Police Department, Fire/EMS Department, Department of Corrections, Office of Homeland Security, Public Safety Communications and the Office of the County Executive.

Food donations will be collected at county police stations, including District 6, 4321 Sellman Road in Beltsville. Donation locations in Upper Marlboro include FOP Lodge 89, Sheriff's Office, Court House, County Administration Building and the Sasscer Building.

Largo West, Largo Government Center, Inglewood Center-3 and RMS Building are collection locations in Largo; and in Landover, collections barrels will be available at the Sports and Learning Complex and Fleet Maintenance.

The Public Safety Assistance Program is a nonprofit organization, and collects tax-deductible monetary donations year-round. Mail checks to PSAP Food, P.O. Box 548, Upper Marlboro, MD 20773.
