Mayor recognizes Laurel's longtime businesses

Laurel Mayor Craig Moe recognized small businesses that have operated in the city for 20 years or longer during the Oct. 22 City Council meeting. This is the second time the mayor has recognized longtime Laurel businesses in a recognition program that Moe said will continue as other businesses meet the 20-year mark.

In a release, Moe said "it is the locally owned and operated businesses that are integral to the creation and maintenance of Laurel's sense of community."

The individually or family owned and operated small businesses honored Monday, and numbers of years in Laurel, were:

Sports Card Heroes (21); All Breed Pet Grooming (25); Comic Classics (25); Laurel Car Wash (26); Security Vault Works (26); ); Ken Lines Insurance(26); Cork and Bottle Liquors (33); ); Maryland Orthopedics (34); Chamberlain Contractors (36); Maher and Maher attorneys (36); Richard Sargent attorneys (37); Ronel Insurance Company (38); Conrad Fleck attorneys (39); Bormel Grice and Huyett P.A. (44); R.L. Thompson Electric (45); Maloney Aire (49); Dannemans Auto Service (66); and Benjamin F. Brown Insurance (66).
