Laurel police chief announces appointees to citizens advisory committee

Laurel Police Chief Richard McLaughlin Sept. 17 announced appointees to his citizens advisory committee for Ward 1.

The appointees are Thomas Whitling, Christopher DePasquale, Brian Coyle, Joanie Cerimele, Rick Nakroshis, Janis Robison and LaAngel Hall. They will serve as volunteers on the committee for two-year terms.

McLaughlin began the program earlier this year to give the community "a voice within the police department."

Volunteers who live, work or own a business in Ward 1 can still apply for several positions on the Ward 1 committee.

Interested persons should call 301-498-0092, Ext. 1144.

Appointments for the Ward 2 advisory committee are in the process of being finalized and will be announced once membership is confirmed, city officials said.
