Maple Lawn Pink Night and bra stretch heighten breast cancer awareness

Maple Lawn businesses will support breast cancer awareness with their fifth annual Pink Nite Friday, Oct. 5.

A bra stretch down Maple Lawn Boulevard will be created from 5 to 6 p.m. Bras are strung together and stretched down the boulevard to create awareness. Last year the stretch was longer than a mile. Gently used and new bras are currently being donated to support Success In Style.

Pink Nite begins at 6 p.m. with a bingo card leading customers to participating businesses. Freebies, raffles and drink specials will be offered. Participating stores and restaurants will donate a percentage of sales to the Susan Komen Foundation.

The evening will conclude with a raffle to benefit the Red Devils, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to fund services that improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.
