Porcari to headline BWI Business Partnership's annual meeting

John D. Porcari, U.S. deputy secretary of transportation, returns to Maryland to serve as the featured speaker at the BWI Business Partnership's 2012 annual meeting. The breakfast meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 14, from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m., at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve, 7795 Arundel Mills Blvd., in Hanover.

Porcari served two tours as Maryland's secretary of transportation from 1999 to 2003 and 2007 to 2009. He was named deputy secretary of theU.S. Department of Transportationin June 2009. In that position, he serves as the department's chief operating officer, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of 10 modal administrations and the work of more than 55,000 employees nationwide and overseas.

Also on the agenda is the announcement of the Partnership's Employer of the Year and a welcome for the organization's incoming chairman of the board.

Advance registration is required by Tuesday, June 12. Partnership members can attend at no charge or $30, depending on membership level. Space permitting, nonmembers may attend for $50.
