Police release photos in Laurel armed robberies

Anne Arundel County Police this week released photos of a driver and a car they are trying to identify in connection with two armed robberies of individuals in Laurel.

In the first incident, police said a man was walking on Russett Green West on Oct. 14 at 9:54 p.m., when he was approached by three males. One of the three pointed a handgun at the man and demanded his property while the other two rifled through his pockets. The suspects stole the man's wallet and cellphone and fled on foot. Police said a witness saw the men exit a blue sedan moments before the robbery. The men were seen at a 7-Eleven store 30 minutes before the robbery and are visible in the store's surveillance video.

In the second incident, a man was walking in Maryland City on Oct. 15 at 9:54 p.m., when he was approached by two males, one with a handgun who demanded the man's property. The two males then entered a dark sedan, which was occupied by a driver, and drove away. Immediately afterward, police said the man's stolen credit card was used at a Maryland City gas station and a McDonald's restaurant at Route 197 and Contee Road in South Laurel. The car was caught on video from the drive-through window at the Laurel McDonald's.

Police said they believe the car is a dark blue 2002-06 Lexus ES300 or ES330, with a sunroof.
