Two Laurel schools locked down as police search for armed man

Laurel High School and Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School were locked down Thursday afternoon as Prince George's County police searched for an armed man near Contee Road, according to Laurel City Spokesman Pete Piringer.

According to Piringer, the schools were locked down as a precaution during the search. The lockdowns were lifted around 2:30 p.m.

Piringer said the search for the man was concentrated on Contee Road near the Victoria Falls Community Center, which is located at 13951 Belle Chasse Blvd.
