Woodbine/Lisbon: Fried chicken? Classic cars? Kiddie rides? Woodstock Festival has it all

St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Catholic Church in Woodstock will hold its 97th annual Woodstock Festival on Aug. 11 and 12.

The festival will feature an old-fashioned, family-style meal with fried chicken and ham. Dinner will be served from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

There will be games of chance, a country store, a moon bounce, kiddie train ride, and classic cars. The church is at 10800 Old Court Road off Liberty Rd. The cost is $13 for adults and $7 for children ages 11 and under.

A memorial fund has been established to honor the life and memory of Matthew Cheswick.

Matthew was a 2008 graduate of Glenelg High School who was killed by a drunk driver in Ocean City this past May.

Donations to this fund will go to establish a memorial bench on the boardwalk in Ocean City and to create a scholarship fund for a student who embodies the qualities of Christian humanitarianism.
