As a parent, to lose a child is the hardest thing you can endure. To lose your child to suicide makes the pain so much worse.

Marilyn Petersen lost her son in 2002 but is trying to help others. She is the owner of Looks Salon and Spa. The salon will hold a fundraiser for Grassroots for Suicide Prevention on Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Phyllis Puccio, a North Laurel resident, works at Looks and will participate in this event. Why not call now to book one of our own, Phyllis, and help this cause? They will offer special pricing, prizes and even have a DJ. All haircuts, blow dry, manicures, eyebrow waxing and 30-minute massages are at special prices and 100 percent of the money goes to Grassroots.

You can also rent a station for a couple of weeks to advertise your business. That money will also go to Grassroots.

Looks has raised over $10,000 for Grassroots over the last 10 years. Let's make this year their best year yet. If you have any questions or would like more information, call Looks at 410-313-9030.
