'Crazy' time coming to stage at Marriotts Ridge High [Marriottsville/Sykesville/Woodstock]

March typically heralds not just springtime, but also the season of high school musicals. At Marriotts Ridge High School, the theater department has been hard at work on its production of "Crazy for You," a high-energy comedy adapted from George and Ira Gershwin's 1930 hit, "Girl Crazy."

This Tony-award winning musical is chock-full of jazz and cabaret classics like "I Got Rhythm," "They Can't Take That Away from Me," and "Embraceable You."

More than 100 students will work on stage and off to bring to life this tale of a stage-struck New York playboy stuck in a small Nevada mining town. Naturally, romance, mistaken identities and toe-tapping dance numbers ensue.

Performances are Thursday, March 21, through Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $12 and will be available during school lunch shifts the week of March 18, online at http://www.seatyourself.biz/marriottsridge, or at the door an hour before showtime.

For more information, call Marriotts Ridge at 410-313-5568, or go to http://www.mrhstheatre.org.
