Letter: Gay marriage might be 'last civil right frontier'

Being gay, or straight, is not a choice, as Mr. Urbany implies (" 'Equal rights' wrong argument for those favoring gay marriage," letter, July 26) We do not wake up each morning and decide whom we are going to be attracted to. We are born as God makes us. Gay marriage is a civil right.

It is presumably the last civil right frontier after much progress in this country with regards to race, gender and disability. According to the Bible, denying rights based upon race or gender is just fine. Our society recognizes this error. How can we continue to deny civil rights based upon sexual orientation?
