The Rocky on the Run 5k Run/Walk through the Lyndwood neighborhood is scheduled for March 23 at 8:30 a.m. This is a certified race that is designed to be competitive, while also being fun for families. The proceeds of the race will go to the Rockburn Elementary School PTA. Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. For more information visit or email

Cheer and Poms

The Ellicott City Patriots Youth Cheer and Poms (dance team) organization is looking for volunteer head coaches, assistant coaches, choreographers, stunt/tumbling coaches and dance coaches for our fall sports season. The First Tee of Howard County is having classes for new students, ages 9 years old or older by Sept. 1, 2013. These classes are for entry-level players and will be conducted in four one-hour sessions. There are two sections (Feb. 16-17 through March 9-10, or March 16-17 through April 13-14).
