Reservoir girls basketball opens season with win over Atholton

Zelor Massaquoi scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help lift Reservoir to a 57-36 victory over Atholton.

Jasmine Pickens added 10 points in the season opener for the Gators, who broke open a close contest in the second quarter. Ahead by four points at the end of the first, Reservoir outscored Atholton, 18-5, to take a 31-14 lead into the half.

Chelsea Mitchell and Briana Taborn each scored 10 points for the Raiders.

Atholton travels to Glenelg, while Reservoir hosts Oakland Mills on Monday evening.
