Tatyana McFadden takes bronze in Paralympics 100-meter race

Tatyana McFadden reached the podium in the T54 100-meter competition at the 2012 Paralympics Games in London, but she won't be standing on the top step when the awards are handed out.

It took a world record of 15.82 by China's Wenjun Liu and a personal best of 15.86 by China's Hongiiao Dong to bump McFadden (16.15) into third. This is her first bronze of these Games. In earlier competition in London, McFadden has won three gold medals.

Her younger sister, Hannah, finished eighth (18.02) in the T54 100 finals.

Tatyana McFadden wraps up her event program with the marathon tomorrow, Sept. 9, the final day of competition. The T54 women start at 11:32 a.m. London time. The T54 men start two minutes earlier.
