Police arrest 10 men in North Laurel prostitution sting

Howard County Police arrested 10 men last week in a reverse prostitution sting along the Route 1 corridor in North Laurel.

Police said female officers dressed in plain clothes went undercover Friday, July 13 in an unspecified area on Route 1 that was the target of complaints about prostitution. Police said people who approached the female officers and offered money for sex were arrested. The men were charged with solicitation of prostitution and disorderly conduct.

Last week's was the latest of a series of stings carried out over the past few years in North Laurel. Eight men were arrested in a similar sting in the same area in May.

Police said they will continue to target prostitution in the county, and asked citizens with tips and information to call 410-313-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous.
