Wrestling: Mount St. Joseph hires new wrestling coach

Mount St. Joseph High School announced the selection of Harry Barnabae as new head wrestling coach.

Barnabae, who takes over for Paul Triplett, is a St. Joe graduate and wrestled on the first National Prep team under Neil Adelberg.

He wrestled at the University of Florida until it dropped its program and then transferred to the University of North Carolina.

Most recently, he has been an active volunteer within the wrestling community – coaching multiple junior league teams.

He also foundied the MSJ Titans Junior League team two years ago.

He takes over a program that has won 26 combined Maryland Scholastic Association and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championships.

"I am very honored to be given this opportunity to return to Mount Saint Joseph and coach a sport I love," Barnabae said. "This school is very important to me, my son is a freshman, and I am looking forward to continuing the strong wrestling tradition here."

Barnabae, like Triplett, is a member of Mount Saint Joseph Hall of Fame.

The 2006 inductee currently lives in Glen Burnie with his wife and their four sons.
