International market to replace Toys 'R' Us on Baltimore National Pike

An Asian and international market has agreed to lease the building currently occupied byToys 'R' Us, according to Bob Pollokoff, president of Fedder Management Corporation, which owns the shopping center.

Pollokoff said Lotte Plaza, which offers 10,000 Asian food items and has stores in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York, should open by the end of the summer.

Lotte Plaza will renovate the interior of the building in the One Mile West Shopping Center afterToys 'R' Uscloses at the end of this month.

"We've been very successful with the shopping center since we acquired it in 2001," Pollokoff said. "We found another tenant that believes in Catonsville, and will be a very good addition to the center."

The store, Pollokoff said, plans to target traffic from Baltimore County and the surrounding area.

"We're very excited," he said on Feb. 2. "We think it's going to bring tremendous traffic into Catonsville from outside the area."

An official announcement, Pollokoff said, would likely be made next week.
