Md. casinos are pumping out billions for education. So why are there school budget deficits?

Catonsville residents donated generously to support July 4 parade

Many thanks to all those who opened their doors and gave to the Catonsville Fourth of July celebration.

My favorite word of the days was "Sure!" when I asked for a donation.

Special kudos go to the people I never had to ask. One lady stopped me as I took a shortcut in front of Opie's. She was sitting on a swing, enjoying ice cream with her children. She called to me, opened her purse and gave a generous contribution.

Another person ran down the street when she saw me on the other side with my red, white and blue bucket.

Another young mother, who had just moved back to Catonsville that day, donated.

My final total was $965.

"Life is great in 21228!"
