Letter: Member of Montford Point Marines deserved salute

Belated thanks for the article on Catonsville resident William Foreman and other black Montford Point Marines finally receiving the Congressional Gold Medal ("One of nation's first is honored at last," Catonsville Times, June 27). The fact that this honor happened after nearly seven decades should give all Americans food for thought!

I personally express heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Foreman for his service and devotion to America during World War II and for continuing to act as a role model up to the present time.

Congratulations, three cheers and hats off to him and all the others!

Lolli Hart
