Letter: Spectators, supporters and volunteers made Catonsville parade a success

The Catonsville parade seemed to be a success again this year, a sane and safe July 4 as envisioned by founder Marie O'Dea in 1947. It appeared as though spectators stayed out of the street. Thank you, parents, for keeping kids safe and for allowing emergency vehicles to pass.

Thank you, too, for your generous donations. The accounting is not complete yet but we will soon know if we can begin working on funding for next year or need more to pay for this year's events.

A third thanks goes to local business people, who work on the committee all year, giving much time and other resources. They include Coldwell Banker, Dr. Scott Baylin, real estate appraisers Connor & Associates, George Deal Landscaping,  EmbroidMe, David and Cathleen Carr with Erie Insurance, HeadGraphics, Manger Packing, and Sign-a-Rama. Monaghan's  and the Frederick Road McDonald's generously donated meals for the fireworks crew. Please support them all.
