We can be proud of our delegates in the Maryland General Assembly for what they did this year to restore the Chesapeake Bay and clean up our rivers.
The Maryland League of Conservation Voters recently released its 2012 Legislative Scorecard. It analyzes how lawmakers voted on measures dealing with conservation and the environment. (It is posted online at: http://www.mdlcv.org/scorecards.)
Our District 12A delegates, James Malone Jr. and Steven DeBoy, scored 91 percent and 100 percent, respectively. Del. Malone is vice chairman of the Environmental Matters Committee, while Del. DeBoy holds an influential position on the Appropriations Committee
One major achievement was passage of the Clean Water Healthy Families package, a water cleanup measure that will mean jobs for thousands of Marylanders and will help make Maryland waters safe for swimming and fishing by 2025.
Congratulations to Dels. Malone and DeBoy for their good work on behalf of clean water, clean air and sustainable communities.
