Catonsville crime log: Police arrest man for entering library after hours in search of water and place to sleep

Frederick Road, 1100 block, 10:55 p.m., Aug. 3. Police report man entered Catonsville Library through unlocked door, triggering the alarm. The man said he needed water and a place to sleep. Police arrested him and charged him with fourth-degree burglary.

Baltimore National Pike, 6000 block, 2:11 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 3. Side emergency exit door of Home Depot pried open. Lock destroyed. Power saw and two hammer drills stolen.

Oella Avenue, 400 block, between 8:30 p.m., Aug. 2 and 7:45 a.m., Aug. 3. Window panel of door to Jay's Country Store broken. No entry made.

Oella Avenue, 400 block, 3:30 a.m., Aug. 2. Police report man entered woman's bedroom through door adjoining their apartments, stood at her bed and touched her foot. Woman screamed and man fled. Man arrested and charged with two counts of burglary, second-degree assault and trespassing.

Rockhaven Avenue, 2100 block, between 9 p.m., July 30 and 6:30 a.m., July 31. Locking bracket on shed door pried open behind residence. Nothing stolen.
