Have I told you about my new 'grandog' ? Waddles —- the name bestowed on him by his previous owner — is a 4-year-old, black-and-white Chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mix. Waddles was adopted last month by my daughter's family and now is granddaughter Allison's best buddy. When school was closed during those "no- snow" days during the Easter break, Allison and Waddles came to Nana's house in Parkville to hang out. This bouncy little critter doesn't really waddle since he weighs only eight pounds, is faster than a speeding bullet when it comes to leaping up on human laps, and can walk up on his hind legs when motivated by a dog biscuit. When Lucky—my somewhat rotund 30-pound Westie/ beagle mix, met her skinny little cousin-dog for the first time they bonded well, sharing love, attention, competition for treats and barking alerts in harmony from the window sill whenever they saw humans or other dogs outside..

HobbyTown, USA, which opened there recently, is located between Rugged Wear House and Exotic Aquatics and offers an astounding selection of childrens craft kits, toy racing cars, planes, helicopters, models, games, puzzles, trains and hobby supplies . The Parkville Senior Center will hold its annual Bull Roast on Thursday, May 17, from noon to 5 p.m. Catered by Waterman's Pride, the menu will include homemade crab soup, top round beef, turkey breast, barbecue chicken, Italian meatballs, yummy side dishes and live music by The Roundhouse Ramblers, an energetic five-piece dance combo band.
