Now that the the dog days of summer are behind us, and school is back in session, there are a couple of critters missing from my house three days a week — my granddaughter, Allison, and my grandog, Waddles, her Chihuahua who was also my house guest during summer break. Allison, now in seventh grade, officially became a "senior citizen," on Sept. 22 when she blew out 12 candles on her cake at her sleep-over party...

Natalie Hoban, daughter of Rodney and Beatrice Hoban, of Parkville, wed Nicholas DiLeonardo, of Pasadema, at St. Peter's Church in Baltimore on Aug. ll, with 150 guests attending. the wedding and reception that followed in Westminster Hall.
The newlyweds honeymooned in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands and are now at home in Pasadena.
.Happy Belated Birthday wishes to Charlie Sikorsky, who celebrated his 75th on Sept. 7.
What are you going to be on Halloween this year? The place you want to check out is Halloween Spirit, which opened Sept. 11 in North Plaza. (It's'near "Ross - Dress for Less.) Halloween Spirit offers not just costumes, but a fantastic array of spooky party decor and creepy sound effects. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 11a.m. to 7 p.m., and it's open on Sundays from l0 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Are you interested in decreasing your risk for heart disease and taking positive steps for your health? At the Parkville Senior Center, 8601 Harford Road, you can be a part if the new Heart Smart Senior program from Franklin Square Medical Center.
On Oct. 18 at ll a.m. a Heart Smart program overview will be provided with free screenings. Heart Smart Seniors will then meet monthly to learn how to take care of their heart and themselves. This includes self-management tools, blood pressure, the DASH diet, activity guide, cholesterol, diabetes screening, and more. Pre-registration is required.
