Woman raped Saturday in Arbutus motel, according to police

A woman said she was raped Saturday, June 11 at the Swan Motel, in Arbutus, according to Baltimore County Police.

The woman was sleeping at the motel when she awoke to find a man standing over her, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for Baltimore County Police.

The man assaulted the woman, then raped her, McCullough said.

The incident took place between 7 and 9 p.m., he said.

The woman called police and was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where she was treated and released, McCullough said.

The rapist is described as a white male in his late 30s, 5 feet 11 and about 200 pounds, he said.
