Victim in Dec. 30 accident taken to Shock Trauma

Among the 78 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service Dec. 25 to Jan. 1 were the following:

Wilkens Avenue at Wilton Farm Drive, 2:11 a.m. Dec. 30. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with rescue in Arbutus. One seriously injured person rescued from the vehicle and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Hilltop Place, unit block, 5:08 p.m. Dec. 28. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to the report of a dwelling fire in Catonsville and extinguished a fire in a bedroom.

6195 Washington Boulevard, White Elk Motel, 9:01 p.m. Dec. 26. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations assisted Howard County units with extinguishing a two-alarm motel fire in Elkridge.

Southwestern Boulevard at Leeds Avenue, 7:59 p.m. Dec. 26. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with rescue in Arbutus. One critically injured person rescued from the vehicle and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Knecht Avenue, 1400 block, 3:32 p.m. Dec. 25. Crews from the Violetville, Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to the report of a dwelling fire in Violetville and extinguished a chimney fire.
