Baltimore Highlands: Friday morning flea market at senior center

The Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center, 424 Third Ave., urges the community to stop by the flea market-bazaar 9-11 a.m. Friday, March 16. Bring your friends and shop for great bargains.

• A St. Patrick's Day celebration is planned for Monday, March 19, from noon to 2 p.m. Lunch will consist of roast beef, O'Brien potatoes, steamed cabbage, seven bean salad, sodas and coffee for a $6 charge. Don Ingram will provide music.

• Tuesday, April 3, from noon to 2 p.m., is reserved for Easter festivities at the center. The $4 menu includes lemon pepper tilapia, potatoes, Oriental blend vegetables, corn bread, peach cobbler, sodas and coffee. An egg hunt starts at 1 p.m.

The English Consul Volunteer Fire Department, 2827 Michigan Ave., hosts its annual bull and oyster roast from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 31, for a $35 charge. All proceeds will help purchase new equipment, used to help save lives in our community.

August Raveio American Legion Post 195, located at 2603 Virginia Ave., hosts a bull and oyster roast Sunday, April 15, 1-5 p.m. Pit beef and ham, oyster stew, oysters on the half shell, sausage, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cheese, rolls, cake, coffee and a limited open bar will be available. The Manaldi Brothers with their five-piece band will lead dancing from 2 to 6 p.m.
