The Havre de Grace Warriors emerged with combined victories over the Patterson Mill and Bel Air squads in Friday's swimming tri-meet at Magnolia Middle School.
The Warriors topped Patterson Mill, 112-75, and beat Bel Air ,127-61. Patterson Mill won its matchup with Bel Air, 103-84.
Renz Amato was a double individual winner for the Warriors, taking victories in the boys 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle.
Havre de Grace's Carrie Amato won the girls 200-yard freestyle, while Daniel Schoeberlein took top honors in the boys 200-yard individual medley. Chris Worrell earned a first-place finish for the Warrior boys, beating the field in the 50-yard freestyle sprint, while teammate Hunter Infeld won the boys 100-yard butterfly. Robert Bringardner won the boys 500-yard freestyle for Havre de Grace, and the Warriors girls' Allissa Lyons won the 100-yard backstroke. Stephen Link was the final Warriors swimmer to earn an individual victory, taking first in the boys 100-yard breaststroke.
Patterson Mill's Sydney Thompson won twice, earning first place in the girls 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle. The Huskies' Emily Hirschman won the girls 100-yard freestyle, while teammate Ayana Phillips took first in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Bel Air's Bryce McGuire took first place in the boys 100-yard backstroke, while the Bobcat girls had an individual winner in Taylor Chan, who won the 50-yard freestyle.
Mariners drop two foes Friday
The Joppatowne Mariners beat Edgewood, 102-86, and Harford Tech, 106-82, in a tri-meet Friday night at Edgewood Middle School. Edgewood topped Harford Tech, 105-83.
Jess Marx and Dale Marx were Joppatowne's top individual performers, as each raced to a pair of victories. Dale Marx took top honors in the boys 200 free and 500 free, while Jess Marx was winner of the girls 200 IM and 500 free.
Harford Tech had a trio of swimmers with two individual victories. Gracen Clem topped the field in the boys 50 free and 100 free sprints. Katie Doleschal won the girls 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. Megan Doleschal was first in the girls 100 fly and the 100 backstroke events.
Edgewood's Kiera McKenna won the girls 50 and 100 freestyle races.
Jeremy Clark won the boys 100 fly for Joppatowne, while fellow Mariner Tyler DiBastiani won the boys 100 back.
Eric Glover won the boys 100 breaststroke for Edgewood.
Harford Tech's Jake Zeigler was first in the boys 200 IM.
