The C. Milton Wright Mustangs came away from Magnolia Middle Tuesday night with the most Harford County individual titles, winning four races at the boys swimming championships.
Four Mustang boys notched first-place finishes, while swimmers from North Harford, Patterson Mill and Fallston took two titles apiece. Harford Tech earned won victory at the championship meet.
CMW kicked off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as Bernie Chang, Colin Hildebeidel, Ryan Pellegrino and Tyler Dellaratta teamed up to take a county title.
Hildebeidel quickly put the Mustangs' gold medal count at two by winning the first individual race, the 200-yard freestyle.
Pellegrino earned his team another individual championship, beating the field in the boys 100-yard backstroke.
CMW closed out the event with a victory in 400-yard freestyle, with Chang, Pellegrino, Hildebeidel and Andrew Youn beating the next best squad by nearly 11 seconds.
North Harford's Gabe Lackey took two individual titles by himself, first winning the 200-yard medley event, then notching a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, during which he beat the second-place finisher by more than 14 seconds.
Patterson Mill's Patrick Ward took a title in the meet's quickest event, winning the 50-yard freestyle by just 0.04 seconds. Later in the event, Ward struck again, this time beating all comers in the 100-yard freestyle to earn his second title of the evening.
Fallston's Austin Appel earned the Cougars an individual win in the boys 100-yard butterfly.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Austin Appel, J.D. Appel, A.J. Lagan and Sam Burgess combined to earn the Cougars their second title of the event.
Harford Tech's Justin Carestia brought home one championship for the Cobras, knocking out a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke.
