Women's lacrosse: Gray Goose takes early lead in Bel Air league

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League enjoyed its second night of play Thursday without any interruption from the weather. A pair senior division games were played (junior division action is limited to Tuesdays).

In game one, Key Lime (1-0) overcame a 7-6 halftime deficit to record a 13-11 win over Bubbalicious (0-2). Katie Fonte powered Key Lime to the win, scoring five goals and assisting on three others. Ashley Pietra and Elizabeth DiNunno added three goals each, while Corey Hawks and Emily Tyler each had single goals.

Lisa Parr scored four times and assisted on another to pace Bubbalicious. Brooke Prater and Kathleen Rossetti each scored two goals and single goals were scored by Meghan Najewicz, Megan Campbell and Gabby Spalt. Sara Pippen contributed two assists.

Heather Dove, on the Bubbalicious team, played in goal for Key Lime, making six saves, while Katy Kerns was in goal for Bubbalicious with four saves.

Gray Goose (2-0) took the early lead in the standings with a 12-5 win over Blue Bazinggas (0-1). Gray led 5-3 at the half, but dominated the second half by outscoring Blue 7-2.

Leah Grauer led the winners with four goals and Sarah Morris added three goals and one assist. Danielle Heaps netted two goals, while Brittney Gonzalez, Kristen Russo and Kim Eraso each had single goals. Kati Vu added two assists. Laurin Grauer and Shannon Bowers also had assists.

Anna Pollitt scored twice to lead Blue, while single goals were netted by Aloise Diedrich, Nicole Miller and Morgan Grannas. Kaylee Litke had one assist.

Dove, also filing in for Gray, made three saves in goal, while Roxanne Diedrich had 10 saves for Blue.
