Sean Paulsen, son of Ed and Theresa Paulsen, formally received his Eagle Scout rank and medal April 7 in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at Bel Air United Methodist Church.
Sean has been a member of Troop 777 since 2008 and completed the requirements for rank of Eagle Scout on Dec. 17.
Sean's Eagle Project benefited Anna's House, a non-profit organization that offers temporary and permanent housing to homeless women and their children. His project involved making improvements to the playground area and storage shed. These improvements included having a bicycle rack made and installed, building a bench, installing shelves in their shed and staining the playground equipment and picnic tables.
To raise money for this project, Sean organized a car wash and received donations from friends, family and local businesses. He raised more than $800 to fund his project, and received invaluable assistance from the Harford Technical High School welding class. With help of Scouts, family and friends, the work at Anna's House was completed in one day. The entire project took more than 234 man hours to complete.
Sean said the volunteers from Troop 777, Cindy Hanley from Anna's House and Mr. Cameron helped make his project successful.
