Two taken to hospital after Sunday crash on Route 1

A two-vehicle crash on Route 1, between Forest Hill and Dublin, sent two people to a trauma center Sunday evening, the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association reported.

One of the drivers was trapped in the car after the accident, which happened between Forge Hill and White House roads on Route 1 at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Two people, one from each car, were taken by ambulance to a regional trauma center, the association said on its Facebook page.

Two medic units were called to the scene, and "firefighters had to cut part of the vehicle away to remove the driver."

Route 1 was closed to traffic in the immediate aftermath, but the association did not report when it was re-opened.

No further details on the incident were available.
