Thanks to all who helped Paint The Town

On July 30, MacGregor's Restaurant along with the Classic Rock Band "LIX" hosted "Paint The Town," a dance party to benefit the Museums of Havre de Grace. Secondly, to also recognize the fifth anniversary of the Plein Air Competition, directed by Cindy Height of Art Union Studio and Gallery.

In all, $4,000 was collected for the museums with more than 225 guests attending the event, including many museum board members and volunteers. Everyone had a great time dancing and donating in support of our museums.

Our museums are key to showcasing and preserving our city's great history while attracting the many tourists that help support our local economy.

Prior to the event, the art teachers of Havre de Grace and Meadowvale Elementary Schools were approached to ask if their students would be interested in participating by painting, drawing or coloring a picture of any one of our museums.

The response was overwhelming. The children's exquisite artwork was displayed throughout the evening for all to enjoy. Note: A portion of the art work will be on display at MacGregor's Restaurant throughout September.

MacGregor's Restaurant and "LIX" would like to extend our gratitude to the many businesses, city officials and great citizens for their generous donations, including time, money, silent auction Items, raffle items and door prizes.
