Construction accident takes man to shock trauma

A construction worker from Cecil County was flown to a regional trauma center after the machine he was driving ran into a ditch in Aberdeen last week, according to a Harford County Sheriff's Office report.

Michael Aaron Campbell, 31, of the 200 block of Little New York Road in Rising Sun and an employee of Dixie Construction in Churchville, was operating a scraper machine July 28 in the 500 block of Chelsea Road in Aberdeen, at about 7:53 a.m.

The machine hit a ditch, causing him to hit his head on the windshield. He possibly suffered back and neck injury, according to the report.

He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

He was alert and conscious but said he was in a lot of pain. Maryland State Police had him flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
