Aberdeen KFC robbed by man claiming to have weapon

A man robbed a KFC restaurant in Aberdeen Sunday night, the city's police reported Tuesday.

Police responded to the restaurant, in the 1000 block of Beards Hill Road, for a reported armed robbery at about 8:56 p.m.

Employees said the man entered the store, announced a robbery and implied he was armed, according to a police press release.

He was given cash and then ran off, according to the release.

No one was injured during the incident and no weapon was ever produced.

The suspect is described as black, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall; he was wearing a black hoodie, black mask and black shoes.

According to the police department's call for service log, employees also described the robber as weighing about 300 pounds and said he instructed the workers to go into the bathroom.
