Motorcyclist injured in crash Thursday remains in hospital

A motorcyclist from Havre de Grace injured in an accident on Route 40 Thursday afternoon remained hospitalized and listed in stable condition Friday afternoon, Maryland State Police said.

Aaron Joseph Peterson, 45, of Havre de Grace, crashed into the back of a car in the 2000 block of Pulaski Highway (Route 40) at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Cpl. John Krysiak of Maryland State Police said.

He was flown by State Police Medevac to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following the accident and, as of Friday afternoon, was listed in stable condition at shock trauma, according to state police.

A woman driving a Chevrolet Cobalt was apparently pulling out of the shopping center near Blenheim Lane and into the left-hand lane of Route 40, Krysiak said.

The motorcyclist did not have time to stop and crashed into the rear of the car.

He suffered facial injuries and was unconscious at one point, Krysiak said.

The woman driving the Cobalt, Geraldine Strouth, 81, was not injured.
