Letter: Helping out Mike Hipchen

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the fundraiser for "Friends of Mike Hipchen," held April 21 at the Forest Hill Lanes, a HUGE success! The event was held to raise awareness of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease); Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord — and help defer costs to the family dealing with this devastating disease.

The generosity of spirit, support and love helped us raise $10,000! The graciousness of everyone involved in this event touched the entire Hipchen family. We could not have done this without the kindness and support of our local patrons, businesses, and the many, many friends and family of Mike Hipchen.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to: Adrienne and Dennis Schwandtner, Allsign Products, Inc., Barbara and John Packard, Bath & Body Works, Buontempo Brothers, Courtland Hearth & Hardware, Danielle Rosenheck, Ewenique Yarns, Father Martin's Ashley, Fisherman's Catch, Forest Hill Lanes, Klein's ShopRite, Larry Vencill, Linda Bryan (organizer), Looney's Pub, Mann House, Loren and Mark Montgomery, Mary's Garden, Saxon's Diamond Center, Starbucks Coffee Company, Suzanne Irey Bozievich, Tea By Two, the Tilted Kilt and the Tower Restaurant.

Special Thanks to: The "Friday Night Club," the folks at Siemens, the Parishioners of St. Ignatius, the staff at Lorien Health Systems, friends of Mike Hipchen.

No matter how big or small, every act of kindness makes a huge difference in the lives of others.  We cannot do it alone.   Thank you and God Bless,

Adrienne Weber-Schwandtner
