Mobile veterans centers thankful for parking spaces in Harford [Letter]

The Harford County out-station of the Elkton Vet Center was closed for renovations from April 15 – 25. In order to continue our services to veterans, Readjustment Counseling Services detailed a mobile vet center to Harford County. Mobile vet centers are larger RV's outfitted as counseling offices.

They are used to bring counseling and referral services to veterans who live in rural areas and to veterans in areas hit by disaster. They are also used in parades or for other outreach activities. County residents may have seen it parked at the Bull on the Beach restaurant on Churchville Road on April 24 and 25. I'd like to thank Kim Laplume and Mike Sussan of Bull on the Beach for allowing us to park the mobile vet center in their parking lot. I'd also like to thank Kriste Garman for allowing us to park at the Anita Leight Estuary Center on April 22 and 23.

On behalf of the county's veterans: Thank You!
