A flawed, inconsistent police response to sexual assault in Maryland

Letter: It's not all Obama's fault

Editor:

The letter " The world's problems : It's Obama's fault "(Sept.21) would be more accurate if it stated that U.S. foreign policy causes us almost all of our problems in the Middle East. We need to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan now and remove all of our soldiers from Muslim countries. We must end our financial, military and political support for Israel and pressure Israel into a just Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.

The U.S. should dialogue and trade with Iran, a country that does not threaten our national interests, rather than threaten them with harsher sanctions or, even worse, military action. By following these common sense policies, we will become an honest broker for peace in the Middle East, while making America safer from terrorist threats around the world.
