Volunteers are the greatest!

The Annual AMC Holiday House Tour held recently showcasing eight stops across Harford County was a roaring success due to the ambitious and unselfish volunteers who made it happen. The homeowners decorated their lovely homes in an array of finery which proved that the size, architectural style and color schemes promote imagination and variety for the Christmas holidays. Thanks to gracious homeowners Cliff and Fern Brown, Nancy Welsh, Frank and Rosemary Hertsch, Steve and Vickie Arnold, and Lou and Char Hamel for sharing their talents and Christmas cheer.

The Tollgate Village Model Home decorated by Cheryl Nicklas and Rene Conly was stunning.  Kate Dallam of Broom's Bloom presented a delicious menu for patrons on the tour and it was wonderful to see Christopher's Train Garden designed by Ray and Kim Cooper in memory of their son. Our friends at the Harford Artist's Association Cottage supported our fundraising efforts again this year.

This was a banner year for this fundraiser supporting cancer research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Center. We raised more than $5,000. It was a lovely day, hostesses greeted visitors with sincere appreciation and warm wishes of the season. AMC members as well as some of their friends and family took on this role. We thank them all.

Behind the scenes dedicated AMC members volunteered to help with every aspect of producing such a successful fundraiser. But, without you, the supporters who purchased tickets and took the tour our bottom line would not have been so profitable. The businesses who sold tickets did an outstanding job. Thanks go to Preston's Stationery, Richardson's Florist, Tea by Two, Jonathan's Florist, Simply Grande Home Furnishings, Harford Artist's Association and Broom's Bloom.

Volunteers help make the future of cancer patients brighter by supporting researchers who create hope through science. Thanks to all.
