IronBirds fall, 7-6, in Williamsport

In their Wednesday-night road game with the Williamsport Crosscutters, the Aberdeen IronBirds (17-26) went into the final half inning holding a 6-5 lead, but a two-run rally from the hosts in the bottom of the ninth was enough to hand the visitors a 7-6 defeat.

Leading Aberdeen at the plate was Lucas Herbst, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Joel Hutter went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, while Cameron Edman went 1-for-4, knocked in a pair of runs and scored once.

Making his first start with Aberdeen was Lex Rutledge, who allowed three earned runs on three hits, struck out three and walked four in two innings.
