IronBirds fall to Hudson Valley, 8-2, in fifth straight loss

The Aberdeen IronBirds dropped their fifth straight contest Sunday afternoon, losing 8-2 to the visiting Hudson Valley Renegades.

With the loss, the IronBirds fall to 11-23 overall on the season.

The visitors took the lead for good during their first at-bat with a four-run rally.

Aberdeen's top offensive contributor was Christian Walker, who went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, one RBI and two runs scored in the loss.

Taking the loss was Aberdeen starter Cameron Coffey (1-5), who went six innings in which he allowed five earned runs on six hits, struck out one and walked five. Bennett Parry tossed two innings of relief for Aberdeen, holding Hudson Valley to one hit and recording one strikeout along the way. The IronBirds' Jason McCracken held the Renegades hitless in his two-inning appearance, while Aberdeen hurler Tom Winegardner struck out two of the three batters he faced in a hitless ninth inning.
