Edgewood man indicted on sex offense charges

A 22-year-old man charged with sex offenses and assault has been indicted in Harford County Circuit Court.

Ryan Martin Grimm, whose last known address was in the 1400 block of Charlestown Drive in Edgewood, was indicted on Nov. 27 on charges of a second- and third-degree sex offense, as well as second-degree assault stemming from an incident Nov. 5 in the 100 block of Funsten Court in Edgewood.

Grimm's current address is listed as the Harford County Detention Center.

According to charging documents, on the evening of Nov. 5 "a young 4-year-old female victim ... complained to her mother that she had pain" in her private areas. "She further advised her mother that a male who was in the home helping her father with remodeling" touched her inappropriately.

The mother took the child to the hospital for examination.

On Nov. 6, the girl was brought to the Child Advocacy Center for an interview.

According to charging documents, Grimm is her father's friend and had spent a night at the residence and "sat next to her in the living room and caressed her" and allegedly sexually abused her.

Grimm appeared for a bail review hearing Nov. 19, when Harford County District Judge Mimi Cooper set his bail at $250,000, calling him a "danger to the community."

His arraignment originally scheduled for Dec. 17 has been canceled, but a scheduling conference will be held that day.
