Man flown to shock trauma Monday after Churchville accident involving deer

A man was taken to shock trauma early Monday morning after a single vehicle accident in Churchville involving a deer.

Driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, Michael Stephen Joseph, of Bel Air, was traveling east on Glenville Road shortly after 4:30 in the morning near the Cool Branch Road intersection. A deer crossed in front of the vehicle causing Joseph to swerve and lose control of the vehicle, according to an accident report from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

The Jetta left the road into a property on Glenville Road and hit a wooden fence. Part of the fence came through the windshield and hit the passenger, Fred Abraham Badra. Badra was taken by a Level Volunteer Fire Company medical unit to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to the report.
