Bel Air girls win second straight in volleyball

North Harford opened its girls volleyball season Wednesday at Perryville and came back with a 3-0 win. The scores were 25-23, 25-19 and 25-18.

Meanwhile, C. Milton Wright, Havre de Grace and Aberdeen were also winners Wednesday.

In North Harford's win, Morgan Knox had five kills, while Britney Fleming added three aces and two kills. Also contributing to the win, Becca Simon had three aces and two kills and Megan Wooten had three aces.

Mustangs beat Cougars

C. Milton Wright began its season Wednesday and also won, beating host Fallston in three games. The Mustangs won by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-18.

Warriors beat Rams

Havre de Grace girls volleyball made the most of their season opening match at Edgewood Wednesday, winning in three straight sets. The scores were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-18.

Elks top Huskies

Patterson Mill watched a 2-0 lead slip away to a 3-2 loss at the hands of visiting Elkton Wednesday. The Huskies won the first two games, 25-12 and 25-23, but dropped the next three, 14-25, 22-25, 11-15.

Other Wednesday scores

In two other matches, Aberdeen was a winner and Joppatowne was not. Aberdeen swept host Harford Tech, 3-0, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-17, while Joppatowne was beaten by visiting Bo Manor, 3-0. The scores were 14-25, 1-25 and 12-25.

Bel Air wins twice

The girls volleyball team from Bel Air knocked off its second consecutive opponent on the court Tuesday, besting visiting Perry Hall in three games. The Bobcats won by scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-13.

Leading the winners were Tia Williams, seven kills and four aces, and Celeste Roland, six kills and four aces.

Kaila Gonzalez added five kills and one ace, while Jackie DeLuise contributed two kills and four aces. Also, Amanda Rodriguez had two kills, one ace and 14 assists and Rien Hachmann had five aces.

Kendall Daley and Consuelo Ezcurra played outstanding back row defense.
