Aberdeen, Edgewood pick up girls basketball wins

The two division leaders in UCBAC girls basketball play were in action Tuesday night and both, Aberdeen and Edgewood, were winners in non-league play.

Chesapeake (upper) Division leader Aberdeen (11-2 overall) made the trip to Baltimore City to face Dunbar. The trip was a huge success as the Eagles rolled to an easy 69-32 win.

Freshmen Stephanie Jones and Endia Jones led the Eagles, both putting up numbers for double-double performances. Stephanie Jones pumped in 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Endia Jones added 10 points and 16 rebounds.

Kierra Palmer also scored double figures with 14 points, while Daniesha Porter had nine points and Jimmia McCluskey finished with eight.

Aberdeen led at the half, 32-15.

Rams beat Vikings

Susquehanna (lower) Division leader Edgewood (9-5 overall) played at home, hosting Lansdowne and the Rams held off the visitors for a 55-49 win.

Shania Stamper and Tymira Stamper each scored 13 points to highlight the win.
