CMW field hockey shuts down Bel Air 2-0 Friday

The C. Milton Wright field hockey team (8-1 overall, 4-0 Chesapeake) earned a 2-0 home victory over Bel Air (6-1-1 overall, 2-1-1 Chesapeake) in a cross-town matchup Friday.

Sabrina Rhodes scored the Mustangs' first goal in the opening half with an assist from Jenny Eckert.

In the second half, Eckert closed out the scoring, tucking away a goal with an assist by Audrey Boroshok.

Fallston over North Harford

The Fallston Cougars (5-3-1 overall, 2-1-1 Chesapeake) took a home-field victory on Friday night, coming through with a 3-2 win over the North Harford Hawks (4-3 overall, 1-3 Chesapeake)

The Hawks led the game, 2-0, with a little over 11 minutes left in regulation time.

North Harford got its first goal at the four-minute mark, with Sarah Jackson scoring on a penalty corner after taking a feed from Bailey Sanemen.

Early in the second half, the Hawks extended their lead to 2-0, with Shannon Mansberg scoring off an assist from Juliet Dolinar.

With 11:32 left on the clock, Fallston got on the board when Sydney Fox scored with a helper from Becky Street.

Five minutes after their first goal, the Cougars tied the game up, as Gabby Hopp netted a goal off an assist from Jenna Caldwell.

The game-winning goal came at the 4:19 mark, when Erica Wright found the North Harford net. Eric McClelland provided the assist on the game's final tally.

Patterson Mill over Perryville

Patterson Mill (4-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 Chesapeake) shut down visiting Perryville, 4-0, on Friday.

Mariel Castronova and Linnea Gonzalez each had two goals and one assist in the victory.

Ksenia Greenwell dished out one assist for the Huskies.

John Carroll over IND

John Carroll notched a 4-0 win over visiting Institute over Notre Dame Friday.

Lindsay Kraus and Katie Sullivan both scored twice for the winners.

Kraus dished out one assist, while Beth Boniface also had one helper for the Patriots.

Tech clubs Aberdeen

The Harford Tech Cobras (7-3 overall, 5-0 Susquehanna) beat visiting Aberdeen (0-10 overall, 0-5 Susquehanna) soundly Friday, taking an 8-0 victory.

Tyler Bethke scored three times and handed out two assists, while Courtney Poole, Michaela Hairston and Taylor Everett both scored once in the victory. Olivia Keller and Gill Chase both had one goal and one assist.

Edgewood over HdG

The Edgewood girls (4-5 overall, 2-3 Susquehanna) inched closer to the .500 mark on Friday night with a 2-1 road win over Havre de Grace (1-9 overall, 1-4 Susquehanna).

Havre de Grace's goal was scored by Taylor Clark-Hartman.

Warrior goalie Kateri Peters had four saves.

Rained out

With the foul weather that made its way to Harford County and an earlier threat of tornadoes Monday, all regularly-scheduled field hockey contests were postponed.

The only one of Monday's contests with a definite makeup date thus far is the John Carroll at Patterson Mill game, which was pushed to Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m.

Perry Hall at Bel Air, Joppatowne at Aberdeen and North Harford at Howard, all of which were slated to start Monday, had not been rescheduled as of press time.
